A database built around the workflow

Capture once. Ask better questions over time.

Follow SNDK and MU from recurring observations to historical comparisons and a focused report. This example uses the Finviz snapshot database developed as part of the SOLLUS research tooling.

01 / Capture

Build a history, not another download.

The collector retains request attempts, capture timestamps, contract identities, and source observations. Preferred daily views select complete daily runs; manual observations remain separate.

22Captured dates per ticker
26,948SNDK option observations
26,786MU option observations
Counts describe observations across time, not distinct contracts. The database also contains other symbols; this portfolio view focuses on SNDK and MU.
Collect

Keep the original context

Record the request, source, expiration, and observation time.

Store

Preserve the history

Retain attempts and raw response references in SQLite.

Select

Use complete daily runs

Keep partial and manual captures outside the preferred daily views.

Review

Keep missing data visible

Collection completeness does not establish quote accuracy or freshness.

02 / Analyze

Compare two histories on the same scale.

Recorded regular-session stock prices are indexed to each ticker’s first captured value. The shared baseline makes relative changes easier to compare.

03 / Report

What changed in the same contracts?

Compare October 7 and October 8 observations using the same symbol, expiration, option type, and strike. The report highlights the largest absolute changes among matching, usable bid/ask pairs.

Snapshot change report

October 7 → October 8, 2026 · Saved quote estimates

Actual database values
Strike ($)Oct 7 mid ($)Oct 8 mid ($)Change ($)Change (%)
Midpoint = (bid + ask) / 2. Strikes are limited to ±15% of the latest recorded stock price. Missing, negative, or crossed bid/ask pairs are excluded and counted. A zero prior midpoint has no percentage change. Retrieval times may differ across chains; these are not synchronized or guaranteed fresh quotes.

Beyond market data

Give recurring data a useful history.

The same workflow can support pricing snapshots, inventory records, sales observations, and operating reports: collect consistently, preserve context, compare changes, and prepare a focused review.
