Legacy Data Modernization & Reporting

Legacy spreadsheets held operating history and business rules across 200+ customer locations. SOLLUS led a defined migration and reporting workstream and contributed to more structured invoice generation within a broader modernization initiative.

The business challenge

Carry operating history into a modernized environment.

Manual and hybrid collection processes, spreadsheet calculations, and disconnected reporting made customer equipment information difficult to standardize. A broader modernization initiative required that existing history and embedded business logic carry into the new environment.

The engagement

SOLLUS supported the transition toward a web-based customer equipment data collection protocol. Its defined migration and reporting workstream covered more than 200 customer locations across multiple clients, including clients with several locations.

SOLLUS owned the data migration and reporting workstream and contributed to structured invoice generation. The broader modernization initiative and web-based collection environment extended beyond that workstream. The scope indicator counts customer locations across multiple clients.

SOLLUS's contribution

The work behind the result.

  • Analyzed complex spreadsheet datasets, extracted embedded business logic, and standardized operational and financial information.
  • Developed extraction, transformation, and loading processes with data validation and integrity checks.
  • Supported integration of customer operational information into centralized reporting databases and the modernized environment.
  • Contributed to converting customer invoice generation into a more structured, automated process as part of the same engagement.

Conceptual workflow

How the information connects.

Legacy collection and reporting formed the starting point. SOLLUS's defined data workstream supported the broader transition to a modernized collection and reporting environment.

Illustrative reporting example

From separate inputs to structured outputs

A fictional customer and three locations illustrate how operating records can support a consistent usage report and invoice preparation. Sample units and rates are explanatory only and do not reproduce a client billing rule.

Business value

More structured reporting and invoice preparation.

The work helped replace fragmented manual and spreadsheet-driven processes with structured, repeatable data collection, reporting, and invoicing workflows. Customer operating history and calculation context could be prepared for centralized use within the wider modernization effort.
